Third International Conference “Crimea Global: Understanding Ukraine through the South”
On 17–18 November 2025, Kyiv will host the Third International Conference “Crimea Global: Understanding Ukraine through the South.” This year’s event, held under the slogan “Holding On, Speaking Out,” will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s ties with countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America through discussions of shared challenges, global security issues, and the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The conference aims to demonstrate the resilience of Ukrainian society, highlight Ukraine’s role as an integral part of the global community, and draw greater international attention to the issues of Crimea’s de-occupation, the release of civilian hostages, and the return of unlawfully deported children.
The event is designed to serve as a platform for exploring new formats of cooperation between Ukraine and regions that have experienced colonial pasts and struggles for sovereignty.
Among the participants are representatives from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Nepal. Kyiv will also welcome experts, scholars, journalists, human rights defenders, opinion leaders, and representatives of international organizations.
