Ukraine and the International Criminal Court: presentation of the guide for survivors and affected communities
On November 26 at 02:00 PM (CET), the launch of the “Guide for Survivors and Affected Communities to Understand the International Criminal Court Proceedings and their Rights before the ICC” will take place online via Zoom. ZMINA joined the work on this guide.
This guide designed to help survivors, affected communities, and practitioners understand the ICC’s role in investigating war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide in Ukraine, and the opportunities for victims to participate in ICC proceedings.
The event will feature:
- Yelyzaveta Sokurenko, Head of the War Crimes Documentation Department at ZMINA.
- Dr Philipp Ambach, Chief, Victims Participation and Reparations Section at the ICC.
- Haydée Dijkstal, Legal Representative of victims in the Ukraine situation.
- Caroline Maurel, Outreach Officer from the Public Information and Outreach Section at the ICC.
The event will be moderated by Fiona McKay from REDRESS.
The guide was developed by REDRESS, in collaboration with the Center for Civil Liberties (CCL), the Human Rights Protection Group “SICH”, the Human Rights Centre ZMINA, and the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group (KHRPG).
