This Monday, 17 November, the Third International Conference Crimea Global. Holding On, Speaking Out will kick off in Kyiv — an event that brings together voices from around the world to deepen the understanding of Ukraine, its struggle for freedom, and Crimea’s place in the global context. It is a platform where international experts, human rights defenders, and journalists gather once again to discuss resistance, justice, and the experiences of regions facing violence and colonial pressure today.

This year, the conference will welcome participants from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, as well as Ukrainian representatives from governmental, civil society, and expert communities.

This year, special attention is devoted to women’s leadership and resistance to authoritarian regimes, journalism in times of war, the challenges posed by new technologies, and overcoming colonial narratives about Crimea. The discussions will highlight the experiences of different countries and demonstrate how the global community can jointly respond to the challenges facing Ukraine and the world.
