Event within the framework of the URC2025: “One nation – many homes: from local leadership to transnational reintegration”
On July 9, Rome (Italy) will host the event “One Nation – Many Homes: From Local Leadership to Transnational Reintegration”. It will take place within the framework of the fourth Ukraine Recovery Conference.
We invite Ukraine Recovery Conference participants to an international expert discussion in Rome. Together with community representatives, governments, international partners, and the diaspora, we will discuss the role of IDP Councils in recovery, structured cross-border dialogue, and human-centred return policies.
Key Themes:
- How can IDP Councils engage in transnational return and reintegration efforts without becoming service providers?
- What role can they play in the Humanitarian Reset as models of democratic local leadership?
- How can structured cooperation between Ukrainian communities of forcibly displaced Ukrainians inside and outside the country be built and sustained?
- What are ethical and effective ways to ensure returning Ukrainians receive dignified support from community actors?
- Housing as a key component of the complex strategy of return and reintegration for IDPs and returnees.
Date: July 9, 11:00 AM – 13:30 PM
Participation is open to all by prior registration.
