Second international conference Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South

A+ A-

On November 21-22, 2024, Kyiv will host the Second International Conference, Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South, bringing together experts and leaders from various African, Asian, and Latin American countries to discuss modern challenges and prospects for cooperation with Ukraine. This unique and large-scale event is dedicated to the exchange of experiences and perspectives among nations, increasing awareness about Ukraine, particularly Crimea — an inseparable part of it — and advancing the Peace Formula.

The conference will focus on deepening dialogue between Ukraine and countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, one of Ukraine’s diplomatic priorities. Participants will gain insights into Ukraine’s current situation, its fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity, discuss ways to support Ukraine’s Peace Formula, and address topics such as justice restoration, global food security, Ukraine’s achievements in the Black Sea, and human rights issues.

A special focus of the conference will be on Crimea, symbolizing Ukraine’s resistance to Russia’s colonial policies and bearing significant relevance for many African, Asian, and Latin American countries, especially regarding responses to UN Charter violations, food and energy security, and experiences in overcoming colonialism.

The first Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South conference was held in 2023, gathering over 300 participants both in person and online. Thirty-five distinguished speakers from Asia, Africa, and Latin America joined panel discussions, sharing their insights and expertise with the audience.

The conference is organized at the initiative of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea / Crimea Platform Office, with co-organizers Media Initiative for Human Rights, ZMINA Human Rights Center,  PEN Ukraine, and with the support of the Centre for Information Resilience.

Further information on the event and media accreditation opportunities will be provided soon.
