Twitter Space: The Role of the Belarusian Regime in Displacing, Re-educating and Militarizing Ukrainian Children

A+ A-

On December 2nd, 4 pm EET, a Twitter (X) Space will take place to discuss how Belarus and the Union State are complicit in the displacement, political indoctrination and militarization of Ukrainian children as a crime of discriminatory persecution. The event will be held on the Freedom House Twitter (X) platform.

After the occupation of Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2014, Russia began implementing a policy aimed at eradicating the Ukrainian identity in the occupied regions, a policy the scale and systematic nature of which has significantly increased since the beginning of the full -scale invasion in 2022. Russia and Belarus, as the Union State, both participate in the practice of displacing, politically indoctrinating through re-education and militarizing Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories. This includes the transfer of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories to the Union State for “recreational activities” in camps as an integral part of this policy. This method serves as a crime of discriminatory persecution against the children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
