ZMINA invites human rights defenders to the training on European integration of Ukraine
On January 22, 2025, the training “European Integration of Ukraine: Adaptation of Legislation and Protection of Human Rights” will be held in Kyiv, organised by the Human Rights Centre ZMINA with the support of the EU and the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the joint initiative “European Renaissance of Ukraine”. The event invites representatives of NGOs to participate.
The purpose of the training: to increase the awareness and competence of experts from human rights organisations regarding the process of European integration of Ukraine and relevant EU legislation in the field of human rights.
Participants will learn about the main stages of Ukraine’s European integration, key EU directives and regulations related to human rights (Fundamental Rights block), mechanisms for implementing European standards in national legislation, and develop practical skills in analysing legislation and advocating for changes in the field of human rights.
The training programme covers:
- Sessions with leading experts, including a foreign expert;
- Practical exercises on analysing legislation and developing recommendations;
- Discussions of challenges and prospects in the area of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards.
Trainers:
- Dr. John Morijn, Fundamental Rights Specialist, Lead Legal Expert of the 3*E4U project;
- Bohdan Veselovskyi, expert on European integration.
The training will be held in Kyiv on January 22, 2025. Time: from 9:00 to 18:00.
To participate in the training, please fill in the registration form by January 17, 2025 (inclusive).
The selection of participants will be based on previous experience and motivation. During the selection process, preference will be given to human rights experts who are engaged in European integration. The selected participants will receive a letter with the programme and logistical details of the event. We guarantee a safe environment with electricity, shelter, food and simultaneous interpretation.
All participants will receive a certificate confirming the completion of the training.
Participation in the training is free of charge. Participants from other cities will be reimbursed for bus or train travel according to the purchased tickets (compartment, Intercity – second class).
