ZMINA conducted a training on public communications for the LGBTQI+ community and allies
“Public communication. Digital tools for NGOs. Crisis communication during martial law” – a training on this topic was conducted by the Human Rights Centre ZMINA for the LGBTQI+ community and allies.
The event took place on November 14 in Kyiv and was conducted by one of the best specialists in the field of communications, Oleksandr Ravchev, a Consultant on public communication and interaction with government authorities, public and charitable organisations.
“It was a powerful intensive training for activists, with little theory and a lot of practice,” said ZMINA Project Manager Iryna Yuzyk.
How to solve crisis issues in communication that arise during the war, how to present information in posts and booklets, on advertising posters and billboards, how important visualisation is, what role the organisation’s website plays, how to work with the media – these are some of the questions that was discussed and trained on during the event. The participants prepared information campaigns, drew booklets and created messages on their own.
The event was attended by representatives of well-known LGBTQI+ organisations: “ALLIANCE.GLOBAL”, “Insight”, “Cohort”, “Liga”, CO “100% Life”, youth NGOs “On Equals” and “Tolerspace”, and the veterans’ space “Hub for you”.
“It was dynamic, exciting and interesting,” summed up one of the participants.
