Modern heroines of Ukraine: women resisting, rescuing, and fighting for freedom
Let’s talk about Ukraine and women again with Tetiana Zhukova, an expert in human rights and international law from the Human Rights Centre ZMINA, who collaborates with the UN, EU, Council of Europe and OSCE to document war crimes and human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Zhukova, a guest of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature of the University of Verona on the occasion of the series of seminars “Її – Her: dimensions of Ukrainian Womanhood”, talks about a key role of Ukrainian women in the resistance efforts, bringing concrete testimonies of women imprisoned, tortured and killed in the occupied territories.
Tetiana Zhukova is a member of the NGO Human Rights Centre ZMINA, which collects these testimonies in reports and publications accessible directly from the ZMINA’s website.
