Exhibition about Russia’s war crimes opens at UK Parliament

On November 29, the Russian War Crimes exhibition opened in the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The project aims to draw the world’s attention to the terrible reality of Russian aggression in Ukraine and gives a real picture of the pain and devastation caused by Russia.

As the organizers note, the exhibition begins with a large map of Ukraine, where all war crimes and victims registered to date, verified by independent experts, are marked. It continues with a series of documentary photos that were taken in different regions of Ukraine from February 24, 2022. The culmination of the project is a video created by Ukrainian artist Oleksiy Say, collecting 6,400 images documenting war crimes committed by the occupiers in Ukraine.

Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk, and Executive Director of the International Bar Association Dr. Mark Ellis took part in the opening.

The project was created by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and PinchukArtCentre in cooperation with the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, and the Ukraine 5AM Coalition.

The Russian War Crimes exhibition was previously presented at the European Parliament in Brussels and the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York.
