The film explores Ukraine’s efforts to seek justice for war crimes committed by Russian troops after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, using lessons from the transitional justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The documentary draws parallels between the situation in Ukraine and the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is preparing to mark the 30th anniversary of its war.

The film features testimonies from victims and comments from prosecutors and experts, including the Advocacy Director of the Human Rights Centre ZMINA, Alena Lunova. She shared her thoughts on how Ukraine can ensure a just peace, taking into account international experience. Alena stressed the importance of transitional justice for Ukraine and expressed hope that Ukraine’s path to a just peace would take into account the lessons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The film was organised by Detektor journalists Nino Bilajac, Enes Hodžić and Denis Džidić. The cinematographers in Ukraine were Serhii Klymenko and Serhii Rozov, and in Bosnia were Mirza Mršo and Anes Asotic.
