On 19 October 2026, Kyiv will host the Fourth International Conference “Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South”. This year’s conference will be held under the theme “Navigating a World of Great Powers”. As in previous years, the event will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s ties with countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America amid the rapidly changing international environment, through discussions on shared challenges, global security, and the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The conference aims at strengthening Ukraine’s dialogue with countries of the Global South, draw the attention of international partners to the need for the de-occupation of Crimea and other occupied territories, emphasize the importance of releasing civilian prisoners and returning illegally deported Ukrainian children, as well as broaden understanding of the situation in Ukraine through perspectives from different parts of the world.

This year’s discussions will focus on the rapidly changing global landscape and Ukraine’s growing role within it, transitional justice, international cooperation in the field of emerging technologies, and countering Russia’s predatory recruitment of citizens from countries of the Global South.

The conference will bring together experts, academics, journalists, human rights defenders, and other opinion leaders from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Brazil, Egypt, and other countries.

The working language of the conference will be English, with simultaneous interpretation into Ukrainian.
