Iryna Yuzyk

Human rights defender, feminist, and ally of the LGBTQI+ community.

Iryna has a degree in journalism from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and has over 10 years of practical experience in the Lviv media, including three years as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the local Lviv newspaper Ratusha.

Since 2016, she has been working in the field of human rights. Worked in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as an Assistant to a People’s Deputy in the Field of Human Rights Protection; took an active part in the monument protection movement in Lviv with the NGO People in Action Lviv; and was a Juror of the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv City for three years.

Since 2021, she has been involved in the protection of women’s rights and combating domestic violence at the feminist organisation Women’s Perspectives Centre. Was the coordinator of the Woman for Woman mutual aid platform that supports women in crisis situations.

Iryna’s hobby is travelling around the world. In total has visited 29 countries.
